“I’ve been waiting for this day for so long”
Every now and then you encounter moments that just hit you with a big, emotional punch. These moments aren’t scripted, can’t be forced and they happen so unexpectedly. When you’re in that right place at the right time and you capture such genuine moments, it’s an unbelievably rewarding feeling that makes you all warm and giddy inside knowing you’ll be able to share it with your couple, their family and friends. Such a moment for me occurs at the beginning of Anmol & Joti’s Next-Day Edit when Joti’s mother takes a brief moment from all of her hard work coordinating the events and celebrations that have taken place during the week to finally pause and look at her beautiful daughter before she leaves for the temple to be married. Her words are poignant while the images speak of the deep motherly love she has for her daughter. This moment also sets a beautiful tone for the rest of the film, as Joti and Anmol grew up in different countries, hence the Canada versus USA battle! With Joti leaving for California, we knew the dholi was going to be especially emotional. Overall, it was an incredible week and we were honoured to be a part of the week’s celebrations with both families that took place here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
